IRS gives final approval
to change of
tax status
The IRS has granted AMPS a
tax exemption status under
section 501 (c)4 of the tax
code. The letter can be

AMPS scores big with
IMAC
The weekend of February 21 &
22, 2009 we held the annual
AMPS Aerobatics Challenge. A
total of 31 pilots
registered to compete and
everyone had a chance to
fly. We had great
competition at a great
field. Our boys won big
taking over most of the
first positions in several
classes...

IRS approves change of
tax status
Our tax attorney informed
the club that the IRS has
given the preliminary
approval to the change of
tax status requested.
Pending final approval the
AMPS will be granted a 501
(c)4 tax status which makes
the club a community service
organization. Read IRS
inquiry letter and AMPS
responses in the members
only section of the website. |

Members overwhelming
request for Pilot's Only
Parking
A fairly large number of
members attended the
February meeting to request
that the club creates a
Pilot's Only Parking area
behind the new shelters. By
almost unanimous vote the
membership approved the
construction of the parking,
tentatively scheduled for
the beginning of March.
$1200.00 were approved for
purchasing wood and other
materials.
Please DO NOT use the old
runways as parking until the
project is complete! |
Pit Shelters received
roofs
Sunday,
February 1st, 2009 the final
stage of construction was
completed. The pit shelters
got their canvas roofs
installed. |

Installed

were installed. It was a lot
of work and did not have
time to install the "roof"

Pilot Stations Moved
to New Runways
Saturday & Sunday,
January 17 & 18, 2009 we
moved the pilot stations to
the new runways |

New Senior Membership
Category Approved.
The
membership approved the
creation of a new membership
type - Seniors. To qualify a
member must be 65 years of
age or older. The dues has
been set to $100 per year.
Those members that qualify
and have already paid at the
full Open Member rate will
receive a refund. |
Holiday Picnic.
The now
traditional AMPS Holiday
Picnic was a great success.
We had lots of food, drinks
and of course, lots of
flying. Chris Hogan took
some pictures of the event
mainly showing a little
surprise by our Pig Master,
John Czencz. John is
learning to make paella and
decided to use us as guinea
pigs... |
