Association website
This is the link
for the SPA. They are a Special
Interest Group (SIG) under the
AMA. There is a lot of
information on this site. The
best thing to do is just spend
some time checking out the menu
links. This is the organization
that uses cut off dates of Jan.
1, 1975 for legal airplanes. |
Ballistic Pattern Association
This is the BPA.
They are not currently a Special
Interest Group (SIG) under the
AMA. This is the group that uses
the cut off date of Jan. 1, 1996
as their cut off date for legal
planes. There is not much
information here, but you might
want to check it out. |
Aztec Airplane Factory
This company has
the Phoenix 8 available. They
make the kits on a by order
basis so it might take a while
to get one. The Phoenix 8 is a
legal SPA plane. |
Trenton RC Flyers
This is a website
that has pictures of many of the
vintage pattern planes. I
thought you would enjoy looking
through his pictures. |
Eureka Aircraft
This company has
five airplane kits available
that are SPA legal. Most are
short kits, but a couple are
available as full kits. |
Home And Hobby Solutions
This company has
three full kits available that
are SPA and antique pattern
legal. |
Lazer-Works
This company
sells laser cut kits from plans.
They will cut any plans you send
them and have many already on
their list. They have the
Phoenix 5 (which I sent them)
and Super Kaos as well as many
more. |
Model Airplane News Magazine
Model Airplane
News still has many of the
vintage pattern planes plans
available. Check out their RC
Store and click on the plans
link and then the pattern

Bridi Airplanes
This is Blue Jay
models who bought the rights to
the Bridi designs that hadn't
been sold to other company's. |
PassTime Hobbies
This company has
short kits of the Curare and the
MK Atlas. |
Performance Model Aviation
This company has
short kits of the Deception and
the Peppermint Pattie. They are
working on a couple more planes
that they haven't listed yet.

Pyramid Hobbies
Pyramid offers
ARC versions of the Astro Hog,
Curare and the Compensator.

ZIMPRO
Although it's not
listed on their web site. Zimpro
offers either a kit, ARC or ARF
version of the Daddy Rabbit. You
will have to call them to get
information. |
RCM Magazine Plans
Even though RC
modeler magazine is no longer in
production, their plans service
was purchased by an individual
who still offers all their
plans. I purchased the Dirty
Birdy and Super Kaos plans from
him. |
Early RC Models
This is actually
a sub company of Wing
Manufacturing. They offer
antique legal planes as well as
the Phoenix 5. These are
complete kits. |
my Uncle Willies Plans Service
This guy offers
hundreds of plans, but the only
one that is a pattern plane is
the Taurus. His plans are cheap
but he sends them to you as a
digital file and you have to
have them printed out. |
Southern Reprographics
This is Southern
Reprographics. This is the plans
printing service company I use
to print or copy plans. They are
located right here in Kendall. |
